Dear Parents, Guardians & Carers,
As I communicated on Friday, St Andrew’s will be closed during this week for COVID cleaning following a positive test result by one of the students who attended on site early last week. All students will have to access remote learning from home. We are working with DHHS & CECV as contact tracing is undertaken. Please don’t be alarmed, if your child is deemed to have been a close contact you will be contacted by DHHS, otherwise continue as normal, should you or your child develop symptoms please get tested. It is expected that the school will reopen from Monday 10 August.
Today the Premier announced Level 4 restrictions, some coming into effect immediately while others will be announced over the next few days. In his announcement, the Premier explained that they are reviewing the industries that remain open, with others being either limited in their operations or closed entirely. This will have implications for our onsite Remote Learning supervision, to which I will share our response once we have had time to consider. Tuesday has been announced as a student free day to give schools and teachers a chance to prepare. There will be no Remote Learning on Tuesday 4 August, teachers will not be available on this day.
Could I reinforce the Premier’s message about COVID testing:
- If you have symptoms get tested.
- If you get tested stay home and isolated until your results are known.
- If you test positive you must stay isolated for 14 days, you do not go out, you do not socialise.
- I request your co-operation that should a member of your household be tested, please dont send your child to school until the outcome of that test is known.
More information will follow in the next day or two.
Please stay safe & stay home if you can.
