July 16-20 Lockdown Arrangements

Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians,

Thank you for your understanding and patience. The late notification of the current lockdown made things a little chaotic and we were rushed into making immediate decisions.
Today, we have made plans for next Monday & Tuesday but we are also preparing for the eventuality that this lockdown may extend. We have figers crossed this is not the case.

Care & Supervision Program

The Care & Supervision Program is offered to:

  • Children whose parents/carers are authorised workers who cannot work from home,
  • Children whose parent/carers work for an essential provider and where no other supervision arrangements can be made.
    • where there are two parents/carers, both must be authorised workers, working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for onsite provision
    • for single parents/carers, the authorised worker must be working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for onsite provision.
  • Children experiencing vulnerability

Children must be registered to attend via the SKOOLBAG app/eForms/On-site School Intentions Form

The program will be available from 8.30am – 3.15pm each day of the lockdown period. Please enter through Gate 4 on Mortimer St (near the soccer pitch). Rooms 20 & 21 will be the site of the onsite program. Parents/carers must be wearing a mask when they are bringing or collecting their child.
Students who have loaned a chromebook must bring it with them each day of attendance.
Students who are working on their own devices, will have access to a chromebook at school on the days they attend the program.

Children in attendance must be in school uniform, bring their snack & lunch and water bottle.

Camp Australia
The Camp Australia Before and Afterschool program will operate as normal during the lockdown period. They expect that current booking levels for Monday, 19th July 2021 and Tuesday, 20th July 2021 do not accurately reflect the need for care and, in order to comply with government direction, they have cancelled all previously made bookings for these days. Should families require Outside School Hours Care, you must visit the Parent Portal to book  care as you need it.

Chromebook Distribution
Children in Grade 3-6 who loaned a chromebook in the June lockdown were provided their class chromebook to take home.
For children in Grade F-2, chromebooks will be available for loan from the school office on Monday morning from 8.30-10.30. If you are unable to attend during this time please ring the school office for alterative arrangement.
For any other students requiring a chromebook please attend the school as per the earlier arrangements. The loan of the chromebook is on the understanding it will be cared for and returned immediately at the end of lockdown. A copy of the chromebook loan agreement will be sent home to 3-6 students via remind for your information.
Parents, please be aware we do not have enough chromebooks for one to one and therefore no family will be loaned more than 2 devices.

Remote Learning
The remote learning program will be share by you child’s teacher on Google Classroom by Sunday evening.
As some students in F-2 may not have a device until Monday morning, the F-2 remote learning program will not commence until 11.30.
If students experience any technology problems please use the attached contact information for assistance

I once again would like to stress that teachers will be doing their best to provide continuity of learning for your child, they are doing their best so please be patient with technology and learning expectations. Lockdowns are stressful times for families and I ask that you monitor the health and wellbeing of your child and of yourself, working from home and supervising learning is not easy, so be kind and gentle on yourself, on your children and on our staff.

Best Wishes and fingers crossed we see you all again on Wednesday.
