Lockdown Arrangements – Friday 28 May – Thursday 3 June

Dear Parents, Guardians & Carers,

Victoria will go into a snap 7 day lockdown from midnight tonight.
From midnight tonight until midnight next Thursday (3 June) the five reasons people can leave home are;

  1. for essential shopping
  2. authorised work, including dropping children at school or childcare
  3. to exercise for a maximum of 2 hours with one other person
  4. for care giving and medical reasons
  5. to get vaccinated
  • People cannot travel more than 5kms from home
  • must wear masks inside and outside
  • public gatherings are banned
  • sport has no crowds
  • funerals may have up to 10 people and weddings are cancelled

Students from St Andrew’s, along with all Victorian schools, will begin remote learning from tomorrow and are expected to return to school next Friday 4 June.
Learning packs will be sent home with the students this afternoon. As it is a snap lockdown of only 5 days we have created learning experiences that are not technology dependent so we do not have to distribute devices.

I ask that where possible your communication with teachers is via the REMIND App as they will not all be on site everyday.
The teachers will also be writing reports during this time so I ask that, where possible, communication is limited to between 8.30am & 10.00am.

St Andrew’s will be providing a care and supervision program for children of authorised workers from 8.30am – 3.30pm each day.
Authorised workers are the children of essential services and other authorised workers (list provided), who don’t have any other options for supervision during remote learning. Families are requested to register their children for this program via the eForm On-site School Intentions Form on the Skoolbag App.
Children are to enter through Gate 3 on Mortimer Street and will be supervised in the Foundation classrooms.
Students attending the program will be required to bring their remote leaning packs with them.
Children are not to attend this program if they are feeling unwell.

Camp Australia will remain open during their regular hours for the children of authorised workers.
Please book in the regular manner via the CAMP Australia parent portal.

Stay safe, take care of yourselves and each other.

Michael Gavaghan
