Remote Learning Update 16 August 2021

Dear Parents & Carers,

Earlier today, Monday 16 August, the Victorian Government announced that from tonight the lockdown restrictions will be strengthened and extended in metropolitan Melbourne, until 11.59pm on Thursday 2 September.

The strengthened settings will see a curfew imposed from 9pm to 5am every night.
This will operate as it did last year, with very limited reasons to leave the home during this time.

Playgrounds, basketball hoops, skate parks and outdoor exercise equipment will now be closed for community use.

Permits will be required to leave the house for authorised work, consistent with the arrangements that were in place last year.

Authorised workers will be required to carry permits when working and when travelling for work from 11.59 pm on Tuesday 17 August. The permits will need to be certified.

Parents registering their children for the onsite Care & Supervision program because they are authorised workers will be required to provide a copy of their permit to the school from Wednesday morning. Without a certified permit we will be unable to have your children onsite.

I wish to remind all families that the conditions of entry to the school grounds is on the understanding that you and your family are complying with all Government Health restrictions. With the increase in identified exposure sites in the surrounding community we are experiencing more examples of staff and other members of our school community being asked to get tested and isolate until receiving a negative result. If this happens with your family I hope you understand that means all members of the household and therefore children cannot attend school. If you have any doubts please contact the school office.

I want to remind all families that Thursday 2 September & Friday 3 September are scheduled school closure days that will still go ahead.
There will be no remote learning on these days.

Please take care

Michael Gavaghan
