The term is now well and truly underway.
This week the year 3 students are on camp at Narmbool, near Ballarat and the Foundation students will be celebrating 100 days of school on Tuesday, school life is very busy again.
Natalie Milanese will commence parental leave at the end of this week. We wish Natalie all the best for the impending birth of her first child. We welcome Stella Nguyen as her replacement.
Last Monday evening a small but dedicated group of parents met to continue organising the new Parent Association. To date their work has mainly focussed on fundraising and social but they are also establishing a new document with the working title of ‘Terms of Reference’ that will broaden the group’s work into governance and parental voice in school operations. The next meeting will be held on Monday 12 August at 7.00pm in the school staffroom.
All welcome.
If you would like to speak with one of these dedicated parents about how you can get involved they are:
Shane Sfetkidis - Vedder (Year 2) & Penelope (Foundation)
Catherine Wiseman - Cooper (Year 4)
Maria Sultana - Jamie (Year 4) & Andre (Year 6)
Belinda Bennett - John (Year 4)
Claire Pridham - Alexa (Year 3)
An upcoming Parent Association event is Footy Day Lunch. If you are able to help heat and prepare the pies/sausage rolls and drinks for lunch on August 30 please let the office know and your name will be passed on to the organisers.
I’d like to encourage an enthusiastic effort with the fundraiser, Billy G’s Cookie Dough. As well as raising funds to upgrade the basketball posts and rings and the sails on the senior playground, the parent’s association also funds the performance for Book Week with this year’s performance being Cinderella.
The Parent Association lunch at the end of Term is a Coon Toastie lunch now not a Subway lunch as was advertised in last week’s newsletter.

Grow with Joe - partnering with Envision Target 1,000,000 recycled bottle top collection.
Target 1,000,000 is a joint initiative between Grow With Joe, Envision, Wyndham City, Rotary and Lions. Together we will be gathering 1,000,000 bottle caps from a network of schools and community groups and transforming them into 3D filament, prosthetic hands, and other usable STEM items.
We are once again collecting bottle tops to support this initiative. A collection bin is located in the office foyer.
