SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY Friday 15 November Fair Set Up - The office will be open and the staff will be working on 2020 planning. I ask that any family who knows they are not returning to St Andrew’s School in 2020 to inform Michelle in the school office in writing via email: enquiries@sawerribee.catholic.edu.au.
I also remind all families to ensure that all outstanding school fees and levies are settled as soon as possible.
Yesterday was Remembrance Day and in the morning I was in a classroom and we were reflecting on its significance and especially the words, ‘Lest We Forget’. After 101 years we still stop and say these words, that is despite the fact that there has rarely been a time of peace in our world since. Today we prayed for peace, peace in our world, peace in our country, peace in our community, peace in our families and peace in our school.
It is now 4 days until the 2019 St Andrew’s Parish Fair, the weather forecast is for a cool dry day, a perfect day to bring the family along for a few hours and contribute to the community feel about the place.
Our students will be performing in the entertainment area from 12.30pm if you’d like to see a ‘plate dance’ done exceptionally well. Also visit our staff stall and buy a ticket for the Christmas hamper. If you have not done so yet, I urge all families to return their Car Raffle tickets, preferably sold but if not return the book please. The organisers have to account for all of the tickets. The Fair and the Car Raffle are a major income for our parish and your support is gratefully accepted.
Fair wristbands from the school office are $25. Wristbands purchased at the Fair on the day will be $30.
Our Parent Association are still looking for volunteers to spend an hour or so on the day to help with the Snow Cone and the Fairy Floss stalls. Please let the office know if you can help.
Recently I received an inquiry about accessing photos taken throughout the school year, especially, photos of our assembly award winners and from other special events. Kris Montgomery sent out the information at the start of the year - but I include it again for everyone’s reference.
The Student Lounge is hidden from search engines, and is only accessible via its URL, which is: www.sawstudents.weebly.com

Some footage of our Choir at St Patrick’s Cathedral is included here and I strongly encourage you to take the time to have a look and enjoy their wonderful performance.
