Literacy

Literacy at St Andrew’s is central to the learning and development of all our students as it helps to create confident communicators, imaginative thinkers and informed citizens. We foster a comprehensive approach to Literacy encouraging the transfer and understanding of connection to phonics, reading, writing and speaking and listening. Our students learn to analyse, understand, communicate as well as edit and publish written works. This allows students to develop the knowledge and skills needed for all other subject areas and for future learning.

All literacy programs are data driven and teachers plan authentic, differentiated and engaging learning opportunities based on that data and the learning progression set out by the Victorian Curriculum.
