In recognition of National Reconciliation Week, on Friday June 6, the school welcomed Ash from the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation to perform a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony. Participating in a Smoking Ceremony is a sign of respect and good intentions. Its purpose is to cleanse—to release bad spirits and open ourselves to good spirit, or murrup. The students and staff participated reverently in the ceremony.
